On my travel to the USA in 1980 I met with legendary producer Kim Fowley who had not much earlier formed The Runaways and had them performing Suburban Girl ( Suburban Boy with changed lyrics) in their set. We sat in his apartment in North Hollywood and he brainstormed an idea for my next album. There was talk of recording it in Venice Beach with his “punk crew” but after a few delays I had to return to Aus. He did however listen to my idea for an album that was about an Aussie boy leaving home, travelling through the UK and the US and then returning home. He gave me the song titles NORTH OF THE EQUATOR, MILLION MILES FROM HOME, BURIED IN MY OWN BACKYARD. His original notes are here with my later notes added in darker texta.
