WHAT'S HAPPENING IN WARNER WORLD
Share
Firstly, I hope you have all had an enjoyable Christmas - and if lucky enough - summer holiday. Now, of course, it's back to work which for me means getting to do some live shows where I'll be introducing readers to my next and fifteenth crime novel 'Sound Mind Dead Body'.
First up, Tony, Nicole and I will be heading to Ulladulla Library on March 12 for a 2.30 PM event of music and crime writing discussion. I'll be talking about 'Sound Mind Dead Body' among other things. With Sound Mind I have done my very best to emulate a novel from the Golden Age when Agatha Christie ruled supreme. Yes, this is a cluedunnit, set in Devon England in 1929 just before the Great Depression. The book introduces Fred Willets, an Australian WW1 war ace who has recently been working as police inspector on the West Australian Goldfields. It will be up to Fred to solve the complex and intriguing case with the help of Prudence Meadows, a very clever, and very single pharmacist from the local village. Yes, a hint of romance.

The book is actually based on the script I wrote for what was Australia's, and quite possibly the world's first murder weekend, at Cave's House, Yallingup, WA in 1984. See photos below.
On Sat March 21 I'll be appearing at the Manly Writers Festival at 1 PM with three other terrific Australian crime writers, at the amazing Henry Gs. If you are in Sydney I would love to see you. But book early it's an amazing little venue.
In late April early May I will head to Perth for a week of library shows.
That was a marvellous time with my great pals Johnny Ryan and David Zampatti. It inspired me to try more crime writing.
